Steven W. Short Memorial Scholarship

Father, husband, son, brother, friend and telecommunications professional – Steven Warner Short lived his life to the fullest. He was dedicated; to his family, his friends, his career, and his love of sports. He loved to laugh, turn strangers into friends, and share his smile and warmth to those who needed it the most. Unfortunately, at the age of 30, Steven was in an accident that resulted in a traumatic brain injury and he was unable to recover. On May 27, 2015, our community lost an exceptional young man. But his legacy lives on. Five months after Steven’s passing, his family and friends started the Steven W. Short Memorial Golf Tournament.

Since 2015, this tournament has raised more than $20,000 to go towards Steven’s children’s college education. The community has been so generous in their support of the tournament. Steven’s family has decided to spread the generosity to other children in our community by establishing a scholarship to support families in similar situations.
